At Otak, much of our work revolves around shaping and enhancing journeys in life—the transportation corridors we use every day and the scenic byways that lead us to new adventures and encounters. We have extensive experience developing corridor management plans, as well as planning and designing visitor facilities such as trails, interpretive wayside exhibits, overlooks, and visitor centers. Our project portfolio includes:
- Scenic byways
- Corridor management and strategic planning
- Visual resource management
- Interpretive planning and design
- Design of visitor centers and facilities
In our work for the National Park Service, we have become known for our strengths:
- Demonstrated ability to create value for the NPS through a multidisciplinary integrated approach
- Effective public engagement of gateway communities in projects through a variety of public involvement and community outreach tools and approaches, an in-depth understanding of the visitor experience and important aspects related to visitor use, and enjoyment of parklands
- Sustainable and ecologically compatible project design: we have a strong commitment to environmental cohesiveness, landscape architecture, and solutions that lay lightly on the land and blend with the context and sensitive natural and cultural landscapes
- Capacity to respond to multiple concurrent task orders and to provide quality-based solutions under tight deadlines
